Dr. Richard A. Boone IV, a Chicago native with deep family roots in Aberdeen, Mississippi, carries forward a legacy of faith and service. The son of Pastor Richard A. Boone III and First Lady Regina Boone, and brother to three devoted sisters, Dr. Boone’s journey of faith and leadership began at Rust College in Holly Springs, Mississippi, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications, focusing on Broadcast Journalism.
In 2015, he accepted the call to ministry, culminating in his ordination in 2018. Seeking to deepen his theological foundation, he earned a Master of Divinity from the Interdenominational Theological Center at Morehouse School of Religion in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2021. He went on to complete his Doctor of Ministry at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, in 2025.
Over the years, Dr. Boone has made a significant impact on youth and emerging adults, including college students, particularly during his tenure at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, under the leadership of Senior Pastor Dr. Marcus D. Cosby. There, he led dynamic programming that inspired young people to connect their faith to advocacy, addressing issues such as racial equity, poverty, and systemic oppression. Through workshops, service projects, and mentoring, he cultivated environments where students and young adults felt empowered to engage in meaningful dialogue, take action, and lead change in their communities.
In addition to his ministry, Dr. Boone’s life is beautifully enriched by his marriage to Megan Boone, his beloved wife, whom he married on August 25, 2023. Together, they share a strong partnership rooted in faith and love, inspiring others through their shared journey. Whether enjoying life’s simple pleasures—like laughing, attending live music events, swimming, or working out—the Boones celebrate God’s many blessings. He is also a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and continues to lead by example, inspiring the next generation to walk boldly in faith, service, and purpose.
In December 2024, Dr. Boone was called to serve as Pastor of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Installed in 2025, he now faithfully leads the congregation with a shepherd’s heart and a visionary spirit. Under his leadership, Mount Olive is embracing a new season of spiritual growth, discipleship, and community impact.
Dr. Boone is passionate about preaching the uncompromising gospel of Jesus Christ while equipping believers to live out their faith in tangible ways. His ministry emphasizes empowerment across generations, strong family engagement, and a commitment to justice, compassion, and service. With a deep love for God’s people, he continues to build bridges between faith and everyday life, inspiring others to walk boldly in their God-given purpose.
